Diversity and profiles of resistance to antibiotics in species of Aeromonas isolated from the aquatic ecosystem of ecuador

Introduction: In Ecuador, the diversity of Aeromonas species and their resistance profiles to antibiotics in most aquatic ecosystems are unknown. Objective: To know genus present mineralmedicinal water spa “Santagua de Chachimbiro” Cuicocha crater volcanic lake. Methodology: Water samples from lake Cuicocha, located province Imbabura-Ecuador, were analyzed. The isolation was carried out by deep seeding technique membrane filtration using R2A agar ampicillin starch as culture medium. bacteria identified following schemes proposed Longa et al., (1997), complemented with tests Microgen galleries. antibiotic profile determined plate diffusion method Kirby Bauer (1966) interpreted according CLSI (2019). Results: A total 19 strains belonging 6 identified. Antibiotic show different patterns for each species, although multi-resistant amoxicillin, amoxicillin/clavulanic acid, aztreonam, erythromycin tetracycline prevail.
